Brett McGurk, former special presidential envoy to The Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, appeared on Rachel Maddow last night to discuss the situation in Syria and the consequences of Trump’s decision to abruptly abandon Kurdish allies.
“I don’t say this lightly, and I worked for two years in the Trump administration. He doesn’t know what he’s doing or talking about.”
McGurk also appeared alongside Ambassador Wendy Sherman on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell and spoke of Donald Trump’s decision, likening the current attacks on the Kurds to kids fighting in a schoolyard at a rally.
McGurk resigned from the Trump administration in 2018 after Trump revealed the US would be pulling troops out of Syria.
