Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah was furious on Wednesday after a Senate briefing on Trump’s decision to order an airstrike that killed Qassem Soleimani.

Lee told waiting reporters that “The briefing lasted only for 75 minutes, where upon our briefers left,” before adding it was “probably the worst briefing, at least on a military issue, I’ve seen in nine years I’ve been here.”

Before he went into the briefing room, Lee said he wasn’t sure if he was going to back a Senate Democrat-backed war powers resolution led by Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), but the meeting convinced him to throw his weight behind it. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky will also join Lee in backing the measure.
